When marketing to an international audience online translation widgets come in handy.

On my personal blog I chose a WordPress template with the translation widgets integrated. But it is not really ideal. This widget does translate from English to 4 languages, and since I write primarily in English it does 85% of what I want.

On weekends I write in French. The translation tool does nothing for that, my English readers could not read the French posts unless they are among the lucky bilingual few.

During a recent holiday break the family and I went to a great hotel near Mombasa in Kenya. With 4 young kids the attraction was that the facilities were all-inclusive so constant requests for ice-creams etc were not a problem! So what was so great about it?

Well I’m always on the look out for examples of great and poor business models and ideas, so here’s the key thing that stood out … the huge number of people who had been there before. One couple I spoke to had been there for the last seven years in a row with their children.

Many clients and friends have talked to me over the years about wanting to improve their sales presentations and closing ratios. Your sales schpeel, presentation, closing techniques and tactics can make or break your marketing you know. It’s not enough to do outstanding marketing to obtain new customers and do continuous marketing to your database for referrals and repeat business, but you also need to be able to ask for and close the sale – or it’s all a big waste of time and money!

How is your sales ratio? Is it 50% or 1 out of 2? Is it much higher like 85% or 8.5 out of 10? If you are closing a small percentage of the leads or potential customers that come through your doors then maybe it has to do with your sales presentation or process?

A 2006 survey, released by the health insurance trade group America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), offers a snapshot look at small group health insurance plans throughout Texas and nationwide. The survey has once again stirred up debates over whether health insurance is affordable enough to allow small businesses to cover their workers, or if sweeping changes are needed.

The survey showed that small businesses — those companies with 50 employees or fewer — actually paid a slightly lower health-plan premium than that reflected in a previous survey of mostly larger companies.

So you’ll need to learn a few Internet marketing tips, tricks and techniques. I’ve outlined some of my most important gift basket business tips in the following list:

1. Learn copywriting tricks to help you write your website pages. Write like you talk, use contractions, short sentences, and learn the rules for title capitalization. Articles (like ‘a’, ‘an’, etc.) and connector words are not capitalized unless they’re the first word in a sentence. Prepositions are not capitalized if they have four letters or less. Check on the Internet and keep a stylebook or grammar book handy.
